2Luxardo, Brandied, or Amarena Cherriesfor garnish
Combine all liquid ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add ice, and stir with bar spoon until very chilled, about 30 seconds.
Add a large sphere or square ice cube to an old fashioned glass. Strain the cocktail over the ice, then garnish with two cherries. Alternatively, strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe glass without ice, and garnish with two cherries.
*Triple sec can be used in place of Cointreau**I recommend Carpano Antica, but there are a lot of really cool boutique sweet vermouths that would also be delicious. Really, any sweet vermouth will work.***Luxardo Cherry Juice (NOT the bright red cherries. See the notes in the post about this.) Brandied cherries (and juice) or Amarena cherries (and juice) will also work
