2Luxardo, Brandied, or Amarena Cherriesfor garnish
Instructions
Combine all liquid ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add ice, and stir with bar spoon until very chilled, about 30 seconds.
Add a large sphere or square ice cube to an old fashioned glass. Strain the cocktail over the ice, then garnish with two cherries. Alternatively, strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe glass without ice, and garnish with two cherries.
Notes
*Triple sec can be used in place of Cointreau**I recommend Carpano Antica, but there are a lot of really cool boutique sweet vermouths that would also be delicious. Really, any sweet vermouth will work.***Luxardo Cherry Syrup is just the syrup that comes in the jar of cherries (NOT the bright red cherries. See the notes in the post about this.) Brandied cherries (and syrup) or Amarena cherries (and syrup) will also work
