This Big Mac Bowl recipe for two is an easy burger bowl made with seasoned ground beef, rice, shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, pickles, red onions, crispy chips, toasted sesame seeds, and a creamy homemade special sauce. Ready in about 30 minutes, it’s a fun, flavor-packed weeknight dinner for two.
Make the Sauce. In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup good Mayonnaise, 3 tbsp. Ketchup, 2 tbsp. finely chopped Dill Pickles, 1 tsp. Yellow Mustard, and 1 tsp. Pickle Juice. Stir until fully blended. For a thinner sauce, add a little pickle juice until it’s the consistency you want.
Cook the Ground Beef. In a skillet over medium heat, add 8 oz. Lean Ground Beef, 1/3 cup chopped White Onion, 1 tbsp. Yellow Mustard, 1/2 tsp. Onion Powder, 1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder, 1/2 tsp. Kosher Saltand 1/4 tsp. cracked Black Pepper to the pan. Cook for 5-6 minutes, breaking the beef into small pieces as it cooks, until browned and cooked through.
Build the Bowls. Divide 1 cup Cooked Rice and 2 cups Shredded Lettuce between two bowls. Divide the ground beef mixture, 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese, 1/3 cup chopped Dill Pickles, and 1/4 cup diced Red Onion between the bowls. Drizzle each bowl with Big Mac sauce, then sprinkle 2 tbsp. Toasted Sesame Seeds and crush a couple handfuls of Potato Chips(if using) over the bowls. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Lean ground beef: 90/10 ground beef will give you the least “greasy” ground beef mixture. I’ve used 80/20 before, and it works great, too. I’d probably avoid anything less than 80/20, or if you do use one that is fattier than that, drain some of the grease before mixing in the seasonings. To make the red onion less harsh, soak it in ice water for 15 minutes then pat dry and use for toppings.Adjust the toppings to fit your taste! Omit / add anything you love, and play with the measurements to make it yours.Toast sesame seeds in a dry skillet for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until browned.
