Makes 4 Sliders | Prep Time: 15 minutes / Cook Time: 10 minutes
Easy, flavorful, and perfectly summery (totally a word), these Basil & Feta Ground Turkey Burger Sliders are a small batch recipe with big flavor! Topped with a tangy basil-lemon Greek yogurt sauce, theyโre the kind of dinner that feels effortless but tastes impressive.
Meet your new favorite warm-weather dinner: juicy basil and feta-packed turkey sliders topped with a lemony, herby Greek yogurt sauce that tastes like summer all in one bite! They’re easy to make, light but flavorful, and perfect for any night of the week.
These sliders are designed to make four total sliders, but you can easily double or triple it if needed. Theyโre made with eight ounces of ground turkey (or chicken!), fresh basil, salty feta, savory sun-dried tomatoes, and just enough mayo + Dijon to keep things tender and flavorful. They’re just right for a fun weeknight dinner for two, or even a part of a snack platter for a few friends.

Prep time is about ten minutes, and cook time clocks in at around ten minutes too, depending on your pan and patty thickness. The lemony basil yogurt sauce can be whipped up in under five minutes and makes enough to have a little extra, in case you’re in a saucy mood OR want some for a crunchy veggie dip later (also so good!). Toast the slider buns, spoon on that sauce, and you’re totally set!
Ingredients
For the Sliders:
- 8 oz. Ground Turkey or Ground Chicken (I used 85/15 ground turkey)
- 1/4 cup Crumbled Feta Cheese (about 1 oz.)
- 2 tbsp. finely chopped Fresh Basil
- 1 tsp. Lemon Zest (zest from about 1/2 of a medium lemon)
- 1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp. Onion Powder
- 1/2 tsp. Kosher Salt
- 1/4 cup Italian Breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp. finely chopped Sundried Tomatoes
- 1 tbsp. Mayonnaise
- 1/2 tsp. Dijon Mustard
- 4 Slider Buns (or Hawaiian rolls – or lettuce wraps!)
For the Greek Yogurt Sauce:
- 1/4 cup. Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1 1/2 tsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp. finely chopped Fresh Basil
- 1 tsp. Lemon Zest
- 1 tsp. Fresh Lemon Juice, plus more to taste
- 1/2 tsp. Agave Syrup or Honey
- 1/4 tsp. Kosher Salt, plus more to taste

Ingredient Notes & FAQs
- Ground Turkey: Ground turkey comes in various “fat percentage” options. I suggest using 85/15 ground turkey (which means it has a 15% fat content), because it helps the sliders stay juicy and tender. A leaner option (like a 93/7 ratio) tends to have drier texture once it’s cooked. Totally do what works best for you, though!
- Feta: I used block feta and crumbled it myself (because itโs creamier and saltier in the best way), but packaged crumbled feta works great, too! It adds a punchy, creamy saltiness that pairs beautifully with basil and lemon. If youโre not a feta fan, cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Asiago are fun alternatives.
- Sundried Tomatoes: These are totally optional, but I do recommend them to add a little savory, umami, slightly sweet pop of flavor.
- Breadcrumbs + Mayonnaise + Dijon: The combination of these three things helps bind the mixture and lock in moisture. If you are using a leaner ground turkey or ground chicken, add another tablespoon of mayonnaise to help it stay juicier (and add a little more flavor!) And if you don’t like Dijon, these really don’t have a mustard-y flavor at all. It just compliments the other ingredients really well, and helps them shine!
- Greek Yogurt Sauce: You can sub sour cream for Greek yogurt, or even do a half Greek yogurt / half mayonnaise situation for a richer flavor! Add more basil and/or lemon zest if you’re feeling it, too!
Also, if you want to make these mini turkey burgers for a dinner party or just a random summer get-together? Double the recipe, maybe go mini-pita style instead of sliders! And if you’re feeling a little extra, throw in a crisp rosรฉ, a six-pack of citrusy pale ale, or a chilled bottle of sauvignon blanc. Youโre welcome. ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
Directions
Step One: Make the Sauce. Stir together all yogurt sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Taste and adjust seasoning. Set aside or refrigerate until ready to use.
Step Two: Mix the Slider Ingredients. In a medium bowl, gently mix together the ground turkey, feta, basil, lemon zest, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, breadcrumbs, sundried tomatoes, mayo, and Dijon until just combined.

Step Three: Form Patties. Divide mixture into four equal portions and form into slider patties, just a little bit bigger than the slider buns (they’ll shrink slightly as they cook!). These are about 2 1/2″ – 3″ patties.

Step Four: Cook the Slider Patties. Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat. Add a drizzle of oil, then cook patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 165ยฐF.

Step Five: Toast the Buns. Toast the cut side of the slider buns in a dry skillet (or cut side up under a broiler on “low”) for 2-3 minutes until golden.

Step Six: Assemble. Add cooked sliders to toasted buns and divide the yogurt sauce between them. Add optional greens like arugula or baby spinach if desired, and enjoy!
Recipe Tips & Tricks
- Chill the turkey burger mixture: Pop it in the fridge for 15 minutes before forming the patties if you have timeโit helps everything hold together.
- Donโt overmix: Mix the slider ingredients until just combinedโovermixing leads to tough patties.
- Toast those buns: Bonus points if you brush them with olive oil or melted butter before toasting! Either way, don’t skip this step: a warm, golden slider bun adds to the flavor and texture of these turkey burger sliders.
- Sauce leftovers: Use as a dip, spread, or salad dressing all week long. As always, be sure to taste the yogurt sauce and adjust salt or lemon juice to your liking.
Ways to Customize this Recipe
- Make It Spicy: Add crushed red pepper flakes to the slider mix or a dash of hot sauce to the yogurt sauce.
- Add Greens: Top with peppery arugula, fresh spinach, or quick-pickled red onions for some crunch.
- Grill It: Take the sliders outside and cook them on the grill for smoky flavor!

How to Store + Reheat Leftovers
- Sliders: Store cooked patties in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium-low heat until warmed through. OR toss in the microwave for about 30 seconds, or in the oven on a low temperature (about 300) for ten-ish minutes until warmed through.
- Yogurt Sauce: Store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Stir before using.

This recipe came together during one of those โclean-out-the-fridgeโ afternoons, and Iโm honestly thrilled it did. The fresh basil was begging to be used (aka juuust about to go bad), I had just enough feta leftover from a salad, and suddenly the wheels started turning. A little lemon zest here, some sun-dried tomatoes there, and here we are.
Also, real talk: the yogurt sauce makes a little too much. But thatโs intentional, because youโre going to want to eat it with a spoon, or spread it on toast, or dip roasted potatoes in it. Itโs basically like sunshine in condiment form.
Whether you serve these sliders at a casual dinner for two or double the batch for friends, they feel like something special. Pair them with rosรฉ, a cold pale ale, or even sparkling lemonade, and youโre basically in your own little Mediterranean vacation moment. If you want to make more than four sliders, there is a little slider bar in the recipe card below (near โservingsโ). Slide that bar to adjust the amount you want to make, and the ingredients will automatically adjust for you!
